Board of Scholars & Fuqaha – Introduction

When you engage with Sawaeid’s work, you are also engaging with a collective body of scholarly guidance that ensures the organisation’s humanitarian mission remains ethically grounded, spiritually informed, and socially responsible. The Board of Scholars & Fuqaha serves as Sawaeid’s advisory religious and ethical authority, offering principled guidance rooted in sound Islamic scholarship and community experience.

The scholars and jurists within this board are united by a shared commitment to applying authentic Islamic teachings to contemporary humanitarian challenges. Their role is to provide informed religious insight that upholds compassion, justice, mercy, and the protection of human dignity—particularly in contexts of vulnerability, displacement, trauma, and social hardship.

Members of the Board of Scholars & Fuqaha are grounded in core Islamic sciences, including creed (aqidah), jurisprudence (fiqh), Qur’anic sciences, and Prophetic guidance. This foundation enables them to address modern issues with both textual integrity and contextual awareness, ensuring that faith-based guidance remains balanced, responsible, and relevant.

The Board does not engage in operational management or financial oversight. Its role is strictly advisory, supporting faith-sensitive humanitarian practice, safeguarding and dignity in aid delivery, and ethical public messaging. Through this body, Sawaeid affirms its commitment to integrating principled Islamic scholarship with professional humanitarian standards, ensuring that faith serves as a source of guidance, healing, and responsibility in the service of those in need.
